MopicHub 1.1.0

1.1.0 makes AI 3D the default way to play, lets you pin an OpenXR runtime version, keeps system components up to date automatically, and adds HubDoctor integration for on-site diagnostics.

Games

  • AI 3D is the default launch mode. Every game card now offers a split button: Play in AI 3D as the primary action and Play in OpenXR (UEVR) as the alternative for supported Unreal titles. Cards are laid out in four columns.
  • GPU gate warning for AI 3D. On machines without a supported GPU the hub warns before launch. DirectML is used as the fallback backend, and a CUDA-capable NVIDIA GPU is recommended for the best result.
  • Depth Stream install dialog. If Depth Stream is missing when you start an AI 3D game, the hub offers to install it on the spot.
  • UEVR moved to Add-ons as an optional install. It is no longer installed automatically with the system engines. Install it from the Add-on tab when you need OpenXR playback.
  • UEVR user.config seeding. A default user.config is written on install so SteamVR is no longer picked up as the runtime by mistake.
  • SteamVR detection false positive fixed. SteamVR is no longer reported as active when it is only installed.
  • Game rescan hang fixed. Rescanning the library no longer stalls on certain store manifests.

OpenXR runtime

  • Manual version install and pin. Choose a specific OpenXR runtime version and install it manually. A pinned version shows a Manual badge and is excluded from automatic updates; a toast tells you when a newer version is available.

System components

  • Hourly automatic update of system components. Runtime, libraries, and the eye-tracker module are checked and updated every hour while the hub is running, not only at startup.
  • Obsolete DLL cleanup. Leftover native DLLs from earlier releases are removed during installation.

Diagnostics and connection

  • HubDoctor integration. The hub exposes eye-tracker status through a shared schema and ships mopic_doctor.dll so HubDoctor can read device and module state directly.
  • Loopback UDP self-diagnosis. At startup the hub tests its own loopback UDP channel and reports when security software blocks it, which previously showed up as a camera stall.
  • RealSense DFU recovery mode detection. A camera stuck in firmware recovery mode is identified and reported with guidance instead of appearing as a missing camera.
  • USB descriptor decoding fix. Corrected parsing of some USB device descriptors that caused cameras to be misidentified.
  • USB camera add and remove events are written to the log for troubleshooting.

License

  • Manual license input. Enter a license directly when automatic lookup by monitor serial is not available.

Other

  • Native .node modules and DLLs are now code-signed.
  • Developer tools open docked inside the window instead of a separate window.

Fixes

  • Stall error shown while the camera was working. The probe no longer treats a UDP timeout as a stall and instead defers the verdict. This removes false positives caused by security software blocking loopback or by slow initialization.
  • Wrong Unreal Engine version. Some games (for example Tekken 8) reported their own version as the engine version. Fixed with multi-stage detection that validates FileVersion and ProductVersion.
  • Rebranded Unreal games are recognized. Games that do not use the standard shipping exe name (for example Hogwarts Legacy) are now identified as Unreal from their folder structure, enabling OpenXR playback.
  • Slow game list loading. Removed the version-scan fallback that read entire large executables.

Improvements

  • UEVR injection settle delay raised from 15 to 60 seconds. Reduces injection failures in large titles with long boot times.
  • Install size cut from 407 MB to 90 MB. Removed build output that was recursively bundled into the app, eliminated a triple copy of native DLLs, and dropped unused binaries for other platforms.

Games (new, beta)

  • New Games tab. Games installed from Steam, Epic Games, and Battle.net are scanned automatically and shown as cards, each with its stereoscopic playback path.
    • Unreal (x64) games show an OpenXR badge and play through UEVR injection.
    • Other games show an AI 3D badge and play through Mopic Capture + DepthStream.
  • One-click Play 3D. Launches the game through the store protocol and injects UEVR automatically once the main game window has settled. The UEVR overlay menu starts hidden.
  • Unreal Engine version on game cards. Example: Unreal 5.1.1 · x64.
  • Notice for engine versions not covered by UEVR. Games outside UE 4.8 to 5.6, or whose version cannot be determined, show a confirmation popup before launch.
  • Safeguards. NVIDIA GPU gate for AI 3D, a one-time anti-cheat risk notice on the first launch of a UEVR game, and detection plus UAC recovery when the OpenXR ActiveRuntime has been switched to a third-party runtime.
  • Stronger UEVR defaults. Native Stereo Fix is seeded as enabled and the runtime is forced to Mopic OpenXR.
  • Steam games that are not installed appear as a Not installed card with an Install button that opens the store page.
  • The Games tab carries a BETA tag and a dismissible beta notice banner.

Connection and device stability

  • Camera stall detection. Detects a camera that is enumerated as a device but sends no frames, then shows an error with USB reconnect guidance. Periodic probes run while idle, and the error clears immediately on reconnect.
  • Stricter eye-tracker gate. When the Mopic monitor or Mopic camera is disconnected the module is shut down after a grace period and restarted automatically when the device returns. The grace period is shortened in a stall state for faster recovery.
  • Reworked resolution check. Instead of a fixed 4K rule, the expected resolution is derived from the model-name scheme (U/S/F/Q + digits) per product line. Models outside the scheme (prototypes, etc.) show an undetermined notice instead of an error.
  • Fixed handling when a licensed monitor is disconnected. Resolved camera misidentification and a lingering module process after disconnect.
  • Force register and unregister monitors (hidden). Triple-click a row in Other monitors to register, or triple-click the model name on an unlicensed lineup-only card to unregister.

License

  • Permissions now show their validity period. Near-expiry permissions are highlighted in red with a startup toast pointing to renewal contact. Unlimited permissions are marked (Permanent).
  • Pressing Enter after typing a license key activates it immediately.

Operations and diagnostics (server log)

  • Hub events are sent to the server log (HUB_INFO/HUB_ERROR): start and exit (with uptime) and abnormal exit detection, first run after an update, product connection (including monitor model and resolution), app and game launches (including the runtime and add-on versions used), install success and failure, confirmed connection errors and recovery, license activation and reset, and OpenXR recovery.
  • The startup log includes OS and GPU information.

Other

  • Added an hourly automatic update check while the hub is running.

MopicHub 1.0.1

Fixes

  • Monitor detection rules were not refreshed. Monitor detection defaults added by a new release were not applied on existing PCs. The bundled defaults are now always merged, and entries added manually on site are preserved.

Improvements

  • Force-register development and prototype monitors (hidden). Triple-click a monitor in the Other monitors list, confirm, and it is registered as a Mopic monitor so a license can be entered. The registration persists across restarts.
  • Activate a license key with Enter. Pressing Enter after typing the key activates it without clicking the arrow button.

MopicHub 1.0.0

First official release of MopicHub, the desktop hub for the Mopic 3D ecosystem. It brings Mopic monitor and camera connection management, license activation, and installation and launch of applications and engines into one place.

Connection

  • Monitor, camera, and eye-tracking status on a single screen. Automatic Mopic monitor detection, resolution and refresh-rate checks, status-bar indicators, and connection error toasts.
  • Automatic license lookup by monitor serial number, plus manual license key registration. Works offline with the cached license.
  • The monitor card lists the permissions granted by the license.
  • Eye-tracking panel: module status (authentication and lifecycle), Preview test, ShowCase launch, and manual restart.

Applications and Add-ons

  • Install, update, and remove apps and engines (runtimes, libraries, modules, plugins) from the online catalog. Per-version management, upgrade badges, and download progress.
  • Automatic installation at startup, in order: runtime and libraries, eye tracker, OpenXR runtime. mopic-uevr is also installed automatically as a system engine. Installs are serialized through a queue for stability.
  • The OpenXR runtime is integrated as a fixed-path system engine, including elevated installation, install verification, and service stop and restart handling.
  • Checks the hub compatibility range (hub_compatibility) and only installs or selects compatible versions.
  • The DepthStream plugin is shown only when the license grants permission.
  • Launch and stop apps. Shutdown proceeds in three stages (WM_CLOSE, WM_QUIT, force kill) so apps get a chance to clean up. Apps that were running are re-tracked after a hub restart.

Operations and stability

  • Auto update: check at startup, download progress toast, one-click restart to install.
  • Daily log files and native crash minidump collection.
  • Self-recovery of corrupted SQLite data after taking a backup.
  • Security hardening: install-path escape prevention and download URL validation.
  • The installer checks for the VC++ runtime (14.40+) and installs it if missing.
